How to set Dedicated Inventory?

This feature allows sellers to set a dedicated inventory for a particular marketplace. It is useful when the seller wants to push maximum inventory to a particular marketplace in case of “Sale.” Seller can opt for pushing inventory for a short time-period or for said dates.

Benefits:

  • With this feature the seller can route the inventory to various marketplaces as per the “Sale” announced on various dates.
  • On non-sale days, the inventory will be pushed to marketplaces as setup by the seller in Channel Configuration “Inventory” setup as a normal process. Seller can use this feature to push more inventory to the marketplaces where it is expected the sales to go high.
  • With this feature, seller can plan the inventory routing to various marketplaces in advance basis on the various offers (Festive offers, Festival sales etc.) announced by the marketplaces.

Use Case:

If the seller wants do maintain dedicated inventory in system against the SKU linked with the channel to get maximum orders and to avoid over-booking from other channels, he uses the “Dedicated Inventory” feature. Look at the below table to understand it better.

1. If the calculated inventory is more than the Dedicated inventory set against that Channel then the inventory sync across all channels remains the same as working without defining the dedicated inventory.

2. If the inventory calculated is less than or equal to the dedicated inventory defined against that channel then system only pushed the inventory of that SKU against that channel and pushed the inventory as zero for other channels.
